"I'm losing water in my swimming pool! I think I have a leak in my swimming pool."
To save me time and you money, here are some things to do before your appointment.
24 ON / 24 OFF TEST:
With pool water up to a normal level, mark the water level with tape, lead pencil, or grease pencil, and operate/run your pool for 24 hours. In 24 hours, check the water level. If the pool water drops, remark it. Do not close valves or plug off any openings. Check again in 24 hours. If the pool level drops, mark it. Your marks should look something like pic on the bottom. Then call us with your results.
EVAPORATION TEST:
Fill a bucket with water. With the bucket filled to the top of the rim, place the bucket on the first or second step – the bucket may need to be secured – this will make sure the temperature of the water in the bucket and the pool water temperature are the same. Mark your pool level. In 24 hours, if both the bucket of water and the pool water drop at the same rate, then the water is evaporating.
POST LEAK DETECTION CONCERNS:
If you think your pool has a leak, please repeat the 24 on /24 off test. Call us with the results before making an appointment. We want to ensure there is an active leak before coming out and these tests will validate and quantify your leak symptoms.
